La Masía de Chencho - Feels like home

OUR SOMMELIER RAFAEL REYES “CHENCHO”, BEST SOMMELIER OF SPAIN 2011

We are very proud to announce that our young sommelier Chencho has been proclaimed Best Sommelier of Spain 2011 in the National Championship celebrated in San Sebastian in November. After several years participating in different provincial and national competitions, Chencho has managed to win the most important award in our country. His effort and professionalism has been rewarded and he has dedicated the award to all the Spanish Sommeliers.

This old large house, located in the hearth of Elche countryside, was built in 1830. In its origins, it was used as a farming house and remained intact until 1984, when his current owner, Rafael Reyes, refurbished it completely, maintaining its rustic character.

The past and the present are perfectly combined. Many of their original walls are still kept and they are mixed with and exquiste care of the decoration, emphasizing the large number of antiques and small details.

La Masía de Chencho combines classicism and originality with some touch of sophistication. At the entry, you can appreciate some of the imposing antiques that decorate many of its spaces. The great number of pictures and and decorative jewels will not go unnoticed for the art lovers.
